We are proud that the Desk and Derrick Club of New Orleans is our sister club. |

The Desk and Derrick Club of Denver provides speakers to the community and schools through our Public Perception Committee’s Magic Suitcase presentation. This demonstrates how petrochemicals impact our daily lives, while encouraging reuse and recycling of several petrochemical products.
Our Club has held Silent Auctions to benefit a Community Service project of that year’s Club President’s choosing. For example, in 2009, our Club raised over $1400 for Camp Oasis, a summer camp for children afflicted by Crohn’s or Ulcerative Colitis. Our members have also participated in various walks benefiting the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure of breast cancer. Members have also picked up trash for a section of highway. At other events, we have raised money or collected items for donation to the Food Bank of the Rockies, the local Low Income Energy Assistance Program, as well as numerous community service organizations. |

The Desk and Derrick Club of Denver was organized in 1951 through the undaunted efforts of a group of determined women led by Minetta Miller. It was their goal to form an organization to better educate individuals in the petroleum and allied industries. Their motto being- An employee with a greater knowledge of the industry is a greater asset to the employer. This goal is further achieved today by attendance at field trips, seminars, and special classes. |
|
To enhance and foster a positive image to the global community by promoting the contribution of the petroleum, energy, and allied industries through education by using all resources available. |
